Promo Codes

Promo codes are a tool within event management, allowing organizers to offer customized discounts that can drive ticket sales and enhance marketing efforts. These codes are created in the organization’s event management platform under the “Promo Codes” menu.

How to create a promo code?

To create a promo code, organizers begin by clicking the “+ create promo code” button inside the menu. This opens the “Add Promo Code” window, where two types of promo codes can be selected: “Discount Percentage” or “Discount Amount”.

Creating a “Discount Percentage” Promo Code:

  1. Select the Event and Ticket: Choose the specific event and the ticket type that the promo code will apply to.

  2. Define Promo Code Details: Fill out the form with the necessary details:

    • Name: Assign a name to the promo code for easy identification.
    • Unique Promo Code: Enter a unique code that attendees will use to obtain the discount.
    • Discount Percentage: Specify the percentage discount that the promo code will provide.
    • Quantity Per Ticket: Decide how many times a promo code can be used per ticket. Alternatively, select the “Unlimited Quantity” checkbox for no usage limit.
    • Max Tickets Per Order: Limit the number of tickets that can be purchased in a single order with this promo code.
    • Start Date and End Date: Set the validity period for the promo code.

Creating a “Discount Amount” Promo Code:

To create a promo code that provides a specific monetary discount on the ticket price, the process is largely parallel to setting up a “Discount Percentage” promo code but with a key variation in the discount specification.

  1. Select the Event and Ticket: Begin by selecting the event for which the promo code will be used, and then specify the ticket type to which the discount will apply.

  2. Define Promo Code Details: Fill out the form with the necessary details:

    • Name: Assign a name to your promo code for easy reference and tracking.
    • Unique Promo Code: Create a code that attendees will enter to receive the discount.
    • Discount Amount: Input the exact value of the discount in euros that the promo code will offer.
    • Quantity Per Ticket: Determine how many times a promo code can be used per ticket. If there should be no limit, you can select the “Unlimited Quantity” checkbox.
    • Max Tickets Per Order: Define the maximum number of tickets that can be bought in a single order using this promo code.
    • Start Date and End Date: Set the period during which the promo code is active and can be used by attendees.

After completing the form with all the details for either type of promo code, the organizer finalizes the creation by clicking the “Finish” button. This action generates the promo code, making it ready for use in marketing campaigns and ticket sales, effectively providing a strategic tool to increase attendance and engagement at the event.
